Campaign on World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse

Campaign on World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse

Info

Child abuse prevention day is observed every year on November 19th. As a result of the Pandemic, this year we focused on how we engage people online in raising awareness on this issue. It was our main objective to bring awareness to the issue of child sexual abuse through composition of a ‘theme song’, to motivate people to stop the silence regarding the issue, to use the campaign as a source of encouragement to survivors and to use the tune as a powerful tool in our school program.

We created this campaign to draw special attention to our children and to express our concern for their safety by organizing an online competition on the composition of a “theme song” on how children can stand up for their rights,

The campaign was undertaken in collaboration with a radio station, Red FM, the School of Social Work and the Department of Music, Martin Luther Christian University. Twenty-three participants participated in the campaign and two winners were selected. The songs of all participants can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
