International Girl Child Day is observed every year and it is also known as “Day of a girl”. On this occasion under this year’s theme “My Voice, Our equal future” it is important that every girl child is given a platform to express and identify their goals and dreams that they would like to achieved. As a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, young girls are discouraged in all aspects and their potential and aspirations are far from being recognized. Therefore, providing a safe space for girls to express their aspirations provides motivation for them. In celebration of this auspicious day, we engaged the children in various outdoor and indoor activities. Older girls have discussed their dreams and aspirations, such as becoming successful footballers and leaders.
To commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, many women from around the world took part in the initiative “With Love, the handwritten letter initiative” to girls in our communities. The letters of encouragement and good thoughts from these women have inspired girls to use their voice and follow their dreams.
