Nandaris Marwein is an Assistant Professor at Martin Luther Christian University, School of Social Work, Shillong, as well as a PhD holder from the same University where she published articles with her co-author in the Journal of Medical and Health Studies and in IOSR Journal of Humanities and Social Science in 2020. She earned her Master of Social Work at Martin Luther Christian University, her Master of Public Health from Bangalore’s Society for Community Health Awareness Research and Action, and her Bachelor of Divinity from Mizoram’s Aizawl Theological College. Working in schools as an assistant headmistress, Meghalaya AIDS Control Society TI project at Ribhoi; Kgolagano Theological College, Gaborone, Botswana, Africa; Maternal and child health issues in Meghalaya and also Bedva, Rasnol, and Sarsa of Anand district, Gujarat.
Nandaris visited ACCORD Gudalur in Chennai to learn more about health issues. Also, she conducted research on People Living with HIV/AIDS in Shillong and Erosion of Police Morale in Shillong. Since 2020, Nandaris is involved in different projects of both government and non-government, such as the project of the Directorate of Social Welfare, Office of the District Child Protection Unit, West Jaintia hills. As well as the project of the State Commission for Women of Meghalaya. In the years 2021-2022, Thakur Foundation will conduct a survey on “Capturing experiences and gaps in the public health sector during COVID19 pandemic in meghalaya”. She published articles based on this survey in the North East Today, in the Meghalayan and in East Mojo. Her participation in the teaching profession, research and projects that use social work methods will enhance her ability to apply knowledge and experience to the welfare of society.
