Programme Lead
Arnicia Mary Bawansuk Kharnaior belongs to the Khasi community of Meghalaya. She is a development professional grounded in universal values of compassion, justice and equity. She has a background in Social Work with a specialization in Community Development from Madras Christian College, Chennai.
Arnicia started her career in a woman’s rights based organization in North East Network, Shillong where she worked towards advancing women’s human rights emphasizing on promoting a gender parity and gender equity society in Meghalaya. She then went on to work with SELCO Foundation a Bangalore based Organization working towards alleviating poverty by improving access to sustainable energy. She has experience in project management, planning and execution of projects and has worked with State and Non State agencies to ensure their involvement in effective implementation of projects.
She has extensively worked with women and communities to build community as well as service provider support for women and children survivors of violence. She facilitates sessions on Gender and Violence Against Women; Rights and Entitlements for Women and Legal Remedies for Women and Children.
Presently she is with Faith Foundation as the Programme Lead and hopes to contribute to the tremendous work that Faith Foundation is doing in promoting Child Rights and prevention of Child Sexual Abuse.
